SKYCITY Northern Knights Almost at Full Strength
25th November, 2013

If ever a NZ domestic team resembled a national team it may be this week in Hamilton.

No fewer than six current BLACKCAP members will be on display when the SKYCITY Northern Knights take on the Central Stags at Seddon Park in a Plunket Shield match starting Tuesday.

Joining current internationals Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Anton Devcich, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee and BJ Watling will again be Daniel Vettori who is continuing his rehabilitation from injury.  This match is the final outing before the first Test match of the summer versus the West Indies.

Just two members of the twelve have not represented the Blackcaps at a senior level – the experienced Brad Wilson and the developing Scott Kuggeleijn.

Only the injured Kane Williamson prevents the Knights from fielding a full-strength team, which would have been an absolute rarity in the congested international and domestic playing program.  The opposition will be spear-headed by Ross Taylor.

The match is crucial for both team’s chances with them currently occupying the bottom two places on the table, albeit only after one match each.  Maximum points would see either team jump to the head of the table after two completed rounds.
